LIBERTY, Mo. - The city of Liberty is trying to give its downtown area a boost, and leaders believe that offering more options for young adults will help, so they're getting students at William Jewell College involved.
Their ideas include more coffee shops, pizza places and bars to help attract students because the school is so close to downtown.
"The downtown, to me, needs more student-friendly businesses," said student consultant Taylor Brown. "We're two blocks from the school, and it would be awesome if we could find a way to get more students down here."
Students are hoping their work will improve the "town and gown" relationship and, in turn, help Liberty boost its bottom line.
