LIBERTY, Mo. - The revolving door of superintendents at the Liberty Public School District continues with another exit.
The district has announced Dr. John Jungmann will be introduced by the Springfield, Mo., Public Schools Board of Education, as the finalist for their district’s superintendent position.
According to Liberty Public Schools' website, Jungmann has served as the superintendent for the district since July of 2013. He served as the Deputy Superintendent for one year prior to that.
"The decision to pursue this change was a difficult one for our family as we leave behind many new friends, a tremendous school system and community,” Jungmann wrote in a letter to the district staff.
Jungmann will complete the remainder of his contract with LPS until it expires on June 30.
This is the third superintendent the district has had since 2008.
The Liberty Public School Board of Education has initiated the process to search for a new superintendent.
