CASSVILLE, Mo. - A drug bust near Joplin uncovered candy laced with marijuana.
The Jasper County Drug Task Force found the bags of candy like lemon drops, gummy bears and mints that contained medical marijuana.
The products look normal, but if you take a closer look at the ingredients list, you can see the amount of THC in each package.
Barry County Sheriff Mike Epperly wants parents to be aware these products are out there.
"Be really cautious of what their children are getting into in terms of candy. This could be a situation such as Halloween coming up, something that they really need to pay close attention to," Sheriff Berry said.
The sheriff is spreading the word and holding information sessions for parents and teachers as well as his officers.
