HARRISONVILLE, Mo. (AP) - The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed a local bridge outside Harrisonville in western Missouri because of deterioration.
MoDOT said in a release Tuesday that the East Outer Road Bridge over Interstate 49 one mile northwest of Harrisonville was closed after a routine inspection that showed a structural element had continued deterioration.
The bridge, which carries about 150 vehicles per day, is scheduled for rehabilitation work in 2016.
MoDOT inspectors are working to determine if interim repairs can be made to the bridge.
