NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. - United Auto Workers at the Ford Plant in Claycomo approved a proposed new contract with Ford Sunday.
76 percent of voters approved the new contract.
There are 38-hundred UAW members employed at the plant. The vote was held at Winnetonka High School in North, Kansas City, Missouri. The contract is a local contract with Ford specifically dealing with issues at the Claycomo plant like overtime, job bidding, and seniority. The national contract between the UAW and Ford was approved weeks ago.
Workers at the Claycomo plant are not concerned about job security. Ford is investing $1.1 billion dollars to re-vamp the plant in preparation to produce the company's new vehicle, the Transit.
