Facebook allows teens to post publicly

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Changes made by Facebook this week could make it easier for people to get in contact with teenagers.

The social media site announced it will allow users under 18 to post publicly. That means their posts will show up in searches.

Before, their posts would only be visible by their friends.

Letting teens post publicly also opens up their posts to show up in advertisements, research or on television.
