SHAWNEE, Kan. - In a few years, if little Townsen Ovard needs a story to break the ice, he can simply start at the beginning.
"Well, we had a baby, it just wasn't quite what we were expecting," Townsen's father, DeWayne Ovard, said.
Townsen is DeWayne and Tracy's second child. The Ovards thought they knew what to do when Tracy started having contractions.
"I got everything in the car and told Tracy we would be taking off real soon," DeWayne recalled. "(But) when I get in the car, she gets out of the car."
"I was really, really in pain. I had no idea I was that far in labor," Tracy said.
At three days past Tracy's due date, Townsen was ready.
"It was really surreal, I was like, are we having a baby in our driveway?" DeWayne said.
