Tonganoxie man wins big on Wheel of Fortune game show

TONGANOXIE, Kansas - Chris Albert from Tonganoxie, Kansas, won $70,000 Friday on the Wheel of Fortune TV game show.

In an article in The Tontanoxie Mirror newspaper, Albert and his wife said that he plans invest the money in their children ages 3 and 1.

Albert landed on bankrupt during every spin except his last spin; and that’s when the wheel landed on $5,000.

With time running out, Wheel of Fortune host, Pat Sajak, gave the wheel a final spin and it also landed $5,000.
Another $1,000 was added making each consonant worth $6,000.

Albert solved the puzzle and a bonus-round puzzle. When the game was over, Albert had $70,000 in his pocket.

“It was down to the wire, it was pretty cool,” Albert told the Tonganoxie Mirror newspaper.

The Tonganoxie winner said he applied on-line to be a contestant one year ago.

He got a response inviting him to audition in Kansas City; and the rest is history.

The winning episode was taped in August and the show actually aired last Friday.
