I-35 reopened south of KC following shots fired call

MIAMI COUNTY, Kan. - Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers reopened Interstate 35 in Miami County around 1:15 Saturday morning. The interstate was shut down Friday night after a report of shots being fired in the area.
Miami County sheriffs say at least one person was shot as they drove southbound on I-35 near Edgerton Road. They were transported to an area hospital.
The extent of injuries are unknown at this time.
Southbound traffic was diverted off of I-35 at Gardner Road. Northbound traffic was diverted off of I-35 at K-33.
The closure affected nearly 10 miles of highway.
