APRIL 15, 2012 - The American Red Cross is putting misplaced animals from the April 14 EF-3 tornado into shelters until their owners can retrieve them.
WICHITA, Kan. - Members of the
American Red Cross from both sides of the state line are in Wichita, Kan. helping victims of the April 14 tornado.
Those who lived in the mobile home park destroyed by the twister spent the night inside the Red Cross shelter.
Red Cross volunteers are hoping to help victims get back to what's left of their homes as soon as possible.
They said many citizens are concerned about not having their pets with them. So, volunteers are taking putting pets in area shelters until their owners are able to retrieve them.
The Red Cross shelter will stay open as long as needed.
