ST. LOUIS - A $1 million winning Powerball ticket sold in Missouri remains unclaimed, more than a month after the drawing.
The ticket for the Aug. 4 drawing was sold at Safi Amoco, off Interstate 70 on Salisbury Street in St. Louis.
The winning numbers were: 19, 30, 48, 53 and Powerball 55. The Missouri $1 million winner matched all five of the first numbers, but missed the Powerball.
Powerball is played in 42 states, Washington D.C and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held each Wednesday and Staurday night at 9:59 p.m. CT.
Tickets for Powerball cost $2 each. The overall odds of winning is approximately 1 in 32.
Each drawing, thousands of ticket holders cash in on one of the nine ways to win in Powerball, with prizes ranging from $4 for hitting the powerball to the jackpot, which begins at $40 million and increases with each drawing where no winning ticket is sold.
Powerball winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim a prize.
