KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The drowning death earlier this summer of a 22-year-old Missouri man offered a reminder for family and friends that being safe on the water isn't always a sure thing.
Josh Reek was found dead along the Missouri River in June after he went out fishing with friends.
On Sunday, Reek's friends, along with an escort from the Sugar Creek Police Department, rode from Worth Harley-Davidson in Kansas City North to LaBenite Park in Sugar Creek.
Friends raised money during the ride, with the proceeds going to Reek's wife and two children, Josh Jr., 3, and Mariah, 2.
"He left behind a 2-year-old and a 3-year old and the young love of his life," event organizer Sarahlyn Himes said.
