BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - A metro family remembered a loved one Saturday as services for Hellen Cook were held at the Assembly of God church in Blue Springs.
Her body was found last Sunday, after she had been missing for more than a month.
The family is now looking to create "Hellen's Law" to help families in the future.
"We learned a lot in our search for our mother, and we struggled through some of the steps of what the search should be," Terri Cook, Hellen's daughter, explained. "And what we want is then another family who loses a loved one, they, they know what the next steps are and they can be confident all the right steps are being taken."
The law would create a task force to create a standard missing person procedure, as well as specific guides and tips for the families.
