Gov. Nixon honors Joplin survivors, volunteers

JOPLIN, Mo. - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon opened the Day of Remembrance at Freeman Hospital to honor survivors, medical workers and volunteers who helped in the city's recovery efforts.

"You move forward with the help of thousands of people who came to this city in the moments and days and months that followed that fateful night," Nixon said. "You move forward as the people of Joplin, the staff here at freeman, the first responders who are here today and many, many more."
