JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is proposing a $278 million increase in basic aid for public schools next year. The education funding figures are outlined in a document presented to school administrators and teachers during a meeting today at the Governor's Mansion in advance of Nixon's evening State of the State address. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the budget document.
