Tuesday marks one year since the devastating tornado swept through Joplin.
The city is marking the day by unveiling a new bronze plate inscribed with he names of the 161 victims killed by the storm. It's next to a new memorial fountain, in a city park across the street from the hospital that was destroyed.
The Day of Unity events includes a walk that retraces several miles of the storm's path. Walkers will end up at the park for a moment of silence at 5:41pm, the time the storm hit.
Politicians from across the state will join in the walk, as will tornado survivors and the families of victims.
A crew from 41 Action News will cover the walk with live coverage at 4:30, 5 & 6 pm.
