JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The wealthy Humphreys family has pumped an additional $1 million into Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder's campaign for Missouri governor.

Kinder on Monday reported his campaign received $500,000 each from David Humphreys and his sister Sarah Atkins.

Humphreys is president and CEO of Joplin-based TAMKO Building Products, where his sister is a consultant.

Humphreys in 2012 had dropped support of Kinder after media reports that the candidate repeatedly visited a strip club in the 1990s.

But Atkins and Humphreys have now given a combined $1.5 million for his bid for governor.

   Kinder says he's grateful.

The recent checks come after new campaign finance reports showed Kinder trailed behind the other GOP contenders for the state's top executive seat in terms of fundraising.

Kinder faces a competitive four-way primary Aug. 2.
