CAMDEN POINT, Mo. - "Life is good."
That's all multi-millionaire Mark Hill will say about winning all that money in November.
Mark and his wife Cindy, of Dearborn, Mo., accepted nearly $294 million and it's a good thing the riches fell into their hands.
Mark's hometown of Camden Point will reap the benefits of their generosity.
He plans to plow over the baseball field and put up a new fire station. The current building is becoming cramped and the new building would have room for an ambulance service and would be located along a main road for faster response times.
"This is a project that needs to happen," Mark said.
Since the current ball field will go away, the Hills are helping to build a new one right across the street. Mark said the Platte County Parks and Recreation Department will pay as much as it can to expand the current city park. Mark and his wife will take care of the rest.
"We're fortunate to have people in the community that are willing to share with the community," alderman Mark Wagoner said.
He said the Hill's generosity will help Camden Point quickly take care of projects that would have taken years without their money.
To the Hills, it's just the right thing to do.
"God blessed my wife and I with this windfall," Hill said. "And I think you need to help out whenever you can."
The Hills also plan to help bring sewer service to Camden Point by purchasing land to build a treatment plant. Mark hopes to start the projects this summer.
