MACON, Ga. (AP) - A Missouri-based paper manufacturer is opening a plant that will create more than 200 jobs in Macon, Georgia.
The Kansas City-based Aspen Products Incorporated plans to spend about $13 million on the 200,000-square-foot factory, which will be located in an old Wal-Mart store.
Bibb County commissioners approved $240,000 in expenditures for a new railroad switch that the company needs.
Aspen Products plans to begin production early next year. The plant will produce paper plates, cups, bowls and lunch bags.
The company serves produces products for major retailers, private labels and food service companies. It has a large customer base in the Southeast.
