MOSBY, Mo. - A Canadian Pacific Railway train carrying agricultural products derailed shortly before midnight Friday near Mosby, Mo.
No one aboard the train was hurt, and the public was never in any danger, CP spokesman Ed Greenberg said Saturday morning.
"There was nothing hazardous in any of the cars," Greenberg said.
The Excelsior Springs Fire Department and volunteers from the Fishing River Fire Protection District responded to the derailment. Greenberg said CP crews were still on the scene of the derailment at midday Saturday, carefully inspecting and removing the derailed cars. Fourteen of the trains 149 cars jumped the tracks, Greenberg said.
"We have started an investigation to see what took place," Greenberg said. "We have rerouting options in place. There is no time line for the track to reopen."
