DAMASCUS, Syria - If the United States were to attack Syria, the country's president said his people are capable of confronting it.
In a statement on Syrian state TV on Sunday, President Bashar al-Assad said U.S. threats of an attack wouldn't discourage Syria from its principles or from fighting terrorism.
"We don't care whether the aggression takes place today or tomorrow, but it has become very clear for the American people and for the international public opinion that the allegations made by Obama and his foreign secretary are incorrect and absolutely a big lie," he said.
