MLB to hand out major suspensions, including Alex Rodriguez

NEW YORK - Major League Baseball plans to hand out major suspensions on Monday in connection with the latest performance-enhancing drug scandal.

ESPN says the league will suspend a dozen players, including New York Yankees' star Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez could receive either the longest suspension in the history of the game or a lifetime ban.

"I think he should be suspended. I don't think there is any reason for him to be in the game," baseball fan Matt Zolnick said.

Rodriguez stands to lose over half of the $100 million the Yankess still owe him and will likely appeal the suspension. He plans to rejoin the team Monday in Chicago.

The other players involved will get 50 game suspensions.
