The Kansas City Royals selected first baseman Nick Pratto from Huntington Beach High School with the 14th pick in the MLB Draft.
Pratto was a member of the 2011 Little League World Series champions who defeated Japan 2-1, according to MLB.com.
“He’s a guy that can use all the fields as a hitter,” Royals Senior VP of Baseball Operations and GM Dayton Moore said on Royals.com. “He’s got power we believe will develop.”
