KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Royals placed second baseman Omar Infante on the disabled list Tuesday.
The 32-year-old has missed the past several games due to back inflammation. Infante, who is in his first season with the Royals, leads the team with 19 RBIs.
The team called up infielder Pedro Ciriaco from Triple-A Omaha to replace Infante on the active roster.
Ciraco appeared in one game for the Royals earlier this season. He's currently batting .305 in 19 games for the Storm Chasers.
Before joining the Royals organization, Ciraco spent time with the Red Sox, Pirates and Padres.
