KANSAS CITY, Kan. - It’s almost time to play ball for the T-Bones. But before the first pitch, the field needs some TLC. That’s where Gary Hinton comes in.
He’s only been head groundskeeper for a short time, but he’s already made a huge difference. With a little help, he put in a new infield this week and is now installing a new pitcher's mound.
“This is my biggest challenge; this is on the professional level for me. I guess I came in like a rookie and hopefully by mid-season I’ll be a professional,” he said.
The T-Bones’ home opener is May 15.
