LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Kansas has a new quarterback. Former UCLA quarterback T.J. Millweard is transferring to Lawrence.
Millweard will have to sit out a year before he is eligible to play for the Jayhawks.
The quarterback is from Texas, but spent part of his childhood in the Kansas City area. After he sits out for a year, Millweard will have three years of eligibility.
"So honored and thankful to be part of the Jayhawk family and football team. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!" Millweard tweeted Thursday.
The former Bruin is the third high profile quarterback to transfer to KU under head coach Charlie Weis. Millweard follows former BYU quarterback Jake Heaps and former Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist. Heaps will start for the Jayhawks this season.
When Millweard is eligible to play next year, there will not be a shortage of competition. Weis already has five quarterbacks on scholarship.
