JACK: McLemore slides in weak draft, workouts did not impress

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - There were all kinds of surprises tonight, and that's because this was considered to be the weakest draft since 2007.

There simply wasn't a clear overall number one pick.

Reports that Ben McLemore's stock had fallen because of his workouts proved to hold water.

The Kansas guard, projected to go as high as number one in the draft, fell all the way to seventh.

While McLemore is clearly one of the most talented players in this draft, some general managers around the league were worried about his effort.

McLemore had games with KU where he just flat out disappeared.

Sliding down to number seven will cost him about $2.5 million a year according to the NBA Rookie Salary Scale.
