KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The University of Missouri has agreed to a two-game football series with Purdue University starting in 2017.
MU has been working on the deal for some time, but officially announced the agreement on Wednesday.
The series will begin on September 16, 2017 when Purdue visits Faurot Field in Columbia, Mo. MU will then head to Purdue the following season.
“We feel like this is an attractive game for many reasons, and that it provides a name opponent within traveling distance that will allow our fans the chance to see a new location and follow the Tigers on the road,” MU Executive Associate Athletic Director Bryan Maggard said in a statement.
The two teams have not played since 1980 when Purdue defeated MU in the Liberty Bowl.
