COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri indefinitely suspended star wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham Monday.
“It’s unfortunate, but it’s the right thing to do for our football program, for the athletic department, and also for Dorial. We have high standards related to the expectations that come along with being a Missouri Tiger, and Dorial has not met those recently,” Head Coach Gary Pinkel said in a statement.
Mizzou did not release any details about the circumstances leading to the suspension.
Earlier this year, police in Springfield, Mo., arrested Green-Beckham on suspicion of drug activity. Three weeks after the arrest, documents showed the drugs police found in the car did not belong to the wide receiver.
Green-Beckham played a large role in MU’s SEC East and Cotton Bowl Championship. He caught 59 passes for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns.
