The Associated Press reported Porter Jr. had committed to Washington under former coach Lorenzo Romar. Porter's father, Michael Porter Sr., was an assistant on Romar's staff.
Michael Porter Sr. told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he accepted a position on new Mizzou coach Cuonzo Martin's basketball staff. The Post-Dispatch reports he hadn't signed a contract as of Thursday night but agreed to terms of an agreement with Martin to join the program.
Porter Jr. was named Gatorade National Player.
