Following the big overtime win against division rival Denver, excitement for this year’s Chiefs is reaching a fever pitch in the metro.

“This [season has] been pretty exciting,” said Susie Boyer, a longtime member of Chiefs Kingdom who described being on pins and needles when kicker Cairos Santos lined up for a potential game winning moment.

THE KICK

With time expiring on the overtime clock, Santos became a game hero as his 34-yard-field goal bounced off the inside of the left upright and in for the win.

On Sports Radio 810’s Chiefs Kingdom show with Mitch Holthus, Santos played down the kick saying it was “a no-doubter” that he pushed “just a little” left.

The Chiefs face two top-tier teams in the next two weeks, starting with a road trip to Atlanta to face the Falcons, before a bitter rivalry battle with a potential divisional lead on the line at home against the Raiders.

“That Thursday night game will be epic because right now Oakland is the flavor of the month,” said Mitch Holthus, the voice of the Kansas City Chiefs.

WATCH RAIDERS VS CHIEFS THURSDAY DECEMBER 8TH AT 7:25PM ON NBC.
