Chiefs GM Scott Pioli sits down with Jack Harry

"I came here to win championships"

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Chiefs General Manager Scott Pioli stopped by the station Tuesday afternoon to talk with Jack Harry about the upcoming season.

He weighed in on the Chiefs decision to take Dontari Poe in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

Pioli says he likes what he sees from Poe, a 6 foot 3 inches tall, 350 pound nose-tackle from Memphis.
Another topic of discussion was the the quarterback competition between Matt Cassel, Brady Quinn and Ricki Stanzi.

Last year, the Chiefs went 7-9 to finish last in the AFC West.

The team also had several injuries to set them back.

This includes some of the front line players like Cassel, Eric Berry, Jonathan Baldwin, Brandon Flowers, Brandon Carr and Tony Moeaki.

Pioli says this isn't good enough because he came to Kansas City for a better result.

"It's not about winning divisions. I came here to win championships," Pioli said.
