KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Chiefs have been loading up on defensive back help this offseason. Apparently, that left no room for Javier Arenas. Kansas City has traded the former second-round pick to Arizona for fullback Anthony Sherman.
Sherman has played in 28 games over two seasons with the Cardinals. The blocking specialist only has one career rush for three yards. He has 13 catches for 111 yards. Arizona drafted Sherman in the fifth round out of Connecticut.
Arenas was a second-round selection of the Chiefs back in 2010. The undersized cornerback played in 47 games over three seasons. He notched 149 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions. Arenas also returned 50 kickoffs for 1,050 yards and 153 punts for 1,029 yards.
