Poll: What should the Chiefs do with Matt Cassel?

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Chiefs did their part Sunday to make sure they were never really in the game with the San Diego Chargers.

"Obviously, it's unacceptable," Chiefs tackle Eric Winston said. "It's on everybody."

But if you ask fans, a lot of that blame is on Matt Cassel, who threw all three of his interceptions Sunday in the first half.

"Turnovers have been killing us," Cassel said after the game, and I myself have to take better care of the ball."

Cassel's passer rating places him among the six-worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL.

"We've seen enough of this quarterback," 41 Action News Sports Director Jack Harry said during the late news after Sunday Night Football. "The Matt Cassel Experiment needs to end, now.

Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel isn't blind to the criticism.

"I know there will be some questions about the quarterback," Crennel, in his first full season at the helm in Kansas City, said after the game. "I'm staying with (Cassel)."

Chiefs lineman Brandon Albert says the blame should be spread around.

"Don't put the whole blame on Matt," Albert said.

The Chiefs' struggles clearly extend beyond the quarterback position. All three phases of the game have struggled (offense, defense, special teams).

Their three losses have come by an average of 17 points.
