Will Shields named a finalist for Pro Football Hall of Fame

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - For the second straight year, Will Shields is just one step away from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The former Chiefs guard has been named one of 15 finalists for the Class of 2013.

"The first time you go through you get all nervous. You think about, 'Oh man, this could be the year that I get in.' Then, you get back on the ballot again. It's an honor. What's really cool about it is to say that it's your second time at least making it to the finalists. That's pretty cool," he said.

The 12-time Pro Bowler is in his second year of eligibility. He needs at least 80 percent of the vote to get enshrined on Aug. 3 in Canton, Ohio.

Former Chiefs defensive tackle Curley Culp is one of two candidates being considered by the Seniors Committee.
