The Kansas Jayhawks can count their lucky stars and a guy named Elijah.
Nobody thought KU would be sweating bullets until that final shot went awry for Purdue.
This one was way too close for comfort.
You could feel the tension all night.
That's what close games in this tournament do to fans.
That's why really close games in the NCAA that aren't suppose to be close make this tournament what it is.
That's why KU fans get uptight in March, just waiting for something bad to happen.
When KU fell behind early, you could sense a panic even from Bill Self.
Losing to another double-digit seed on the first weekend would have a devastating impact on this coach and his program.
There is always that constant reminder of the killer B's -- Bucknell & Bradley.
That will never go away. The same way Kansas fans will rub in the fact Missouri has never made it to a Final 4.
Oh yes, I was reminded over the weekend the KU/MU rivalry is not going away any time soon.

I'd like to have a nickel for every time I was asked -- "What happened to the Missouri tigers"?
