PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - Jack Passan misses his dad. But the 6-year-old kindergartner knows it won't be long before his father comes back from covering the Winter Olympics in Sochi to help him with baseball.
To help matters, Yahoo sports columnist Jeff Passan had a Facetime session with Jack when he linked up to the boy's kindergarten class at Briarwood Elementary. The elder Passan took questions about what it's like to cover the games.
"They learned about the transportation," kindergarten teacher Lindsey Barnes said. "They learned how athletes get to the Olympics and it's really neat because they learned about his job."
It's a job Jack said he might consider when he's older. But if he has to cover an Olympics, the summer games would be his choice.
"It's a little more fun because it's a little more warm there," he said.
Father and son expect to be reunited February 24.
