KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Sporting KC goalkeeper Eric Kronberg was named the MLS Player of the Month for June.
"I'm proud of it, for sure, and I'm just happy to get nominated," Kronberg said.
He started playing in KC nine years ago when the team was originally named The Wizards and played at Arrowhead Stadium.
"There were not that many people going to the games. With the new ownership group taking over, they really turned this city into a soccer town," Kronberg said. "Now we great crowds to every game and we're supporting the National Team like crazy too, so, it's really awesome to be a part of."
Kronberg was even at Power & Light to cheer on the US Men's National Team, and he said it was awesome to cheer on his teammates who played in the World Cup.
"They both played fantastic, and I'm really proud of both of them," he said.
Sporting KC is currently in first place in the Eastern Conference.
