KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Local fans are heading to Livestrong Sporting Park on Wednesday night for Sporting Kansas City's last home soccer game of the regular season. But the world is watching the innovations at Livestrong Park in Kansas City, Kan., too.
Sporting KC and its technology company, Sporting Innovations, know social media is growing at lightning speeds. They're hoping to capitalize on social media through events at Livestrong.

The start-up tech company, with 35 software engineers, recently invested $20 million into its new downtown headquarters at the old Hanna Rubber Building. And within three years, a company that currently employs 50 expects to grow to 120.
About a year after its conception, Sporting Innovations now offers its fans a social media experience that no other stadium in the world can match.
Fans can watch live video, replays of the game, alternate angles and see trivia all on their mobile device. The team's technology company knows young people will not put their social media experience on hold for anything.
Fans can express themselves in real time on the video board and eventually will be able to order food from their phones.
The company's co-founder, Asim Pasha, travels the world telling other curious professional sports teams and stadiums how to meld sports with technology.
"You'll be able to take your mobile device and order food, and by the way, we remember what you bought last time," Pasha said.
And many major professional sports teams have taken notice of the innovation -- from the local Kansas City Chiefs to England's Manchester United.
Livestrong Sporting Park was named by its peers "Venue of the Year," beating out the most iconic venues in the world.
Pasha said there is more to come.
"We have just started ... this will be a different venue in three years," Pasha said.
