WB lanes of I-70 near Blue Ridge Cutoff back open after accident

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person sustained life threatening injuries after a multiple-vehicle accident Saturday morning.

Four-vehicles were involved in the accident in the westbound lanes of I-70 at the Blue Ridge Cutoff.

The lanes were shut down for about an hour and a half as crews worked to clear the scene.

According to a report by the Kansas City Police Department, drivers were driving slowly due to construction in the area. One of the drivers rear-ended another, causing a domino effect.

One person was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Another driver was transported with non-life threatening injuries. Two others were uninjured in the accident.
