Kansas City events mean weekend road closures

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The City of Kansas City is urging motorists to be aware of several road closures this weekend due to outdoor events.

Saturday, 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Martini Mile, a relay race, will take place near 31 st St. and Main St. in Martini Corner.  The race begins at 31 st Street and DeGroff Way.

The following roads will be closed during this time:

31st Street from DeGroff Way east to Gillham Road.
Gillham Road from 31st Street north to 30th Street.
30 th Street from Gillham Road west to Walnut.
Walnut from 30th Street north to 29th Street.
29th Street from Walnut east to Grand Boulevard.
Grand Boulevard from 29th Street south to 20th Street.

Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ride the Fountains Bike Tour will kick off Sunday morning.  The ride will close Pershing Road between Main Street and Kessler Road.  The actual bicycle tour will not cause any road closures during the day.

Sunday, 7 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Dog-N-Jog is a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. It is taking place on the Country Club Plaza.

The following roads will be closed for this event:

Nichols Road from Pennsylvania Avenue to Wyandotte Street
Central Street from 47 th Street to Ward Parkway (north)
Broadway Street from 47 th to Ward Parkway (south)
Wyandotte Street from 47 th Street to Ward Parkway (north)
48 th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Jefferson Street
JC Nichols from 47 th Street to Ward Parkway (north)
Ward Parkway (north) from JC Nichols Parkway to Jefferson Street
