Seven people taken to the hospital after car collides with ATA bus

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Four children and three adults were taken to the hospital after a car and bus collided Monday.

It happened around 6:15 p.m. when the bus, carrying 17 people, was turning south onto Troost Ave., crashed with a car.

Two passengers from the bus were transported with minor injuries, according to Kansas City Police Sgt. Bill Mahoney.

A pregnant woman and four children were in the car. They were all taken to the hospital as a precaution.

All injures are reportedly minor.

"I'm like oh God we're about to crash, my coffee flew out of my hand," said one passenger on the bus Chelly Gray.

Another passenger, Tim Washington, said, "The bus kind of swerved to the left and everybody just panicked."

The accident shut down Troost Ave., from 31 st to 34 th streets.

It's unclear the exact cause of the accident at this time.
