Weekend races cause downtown road closures

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three separate races will impact traffic in downtown Kansas City and along Paseo Boulevard on September 7 and 8.

On Saturday, Main Street will be closed from 34th to 40th with through traffic stops at Armour Boulevard and 39th Street between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the Cyclovia Festival. 

Linwood Boulevard to 34th will also be closed Saturday between 10 a.m. and noon for the Main Street Mile race.

Saturday's De-Feet Hunger 5K Run/Walk will start at 8 a.m., at E. 55th and The Paseo Boulevard. Roads will reopen around 9:30 a.m. The runners will follow the following path:

-North on The Paseo Boulevard to E. 49th Terrace
-West on E. 49th Terrace to The Paseo Boulevard
-South on The Paseo Boulevard to E. 62nd Street
-East on E. 62nd Street to The Paseo Boulevard
-North on The Paseo Boulevard to E. 56th Street
-Race will finish at E. 56th and The Paseo Boulevard.

On Sunday, the Broadway Bridge 5K, 10K and Half Marathon will cause closings as runners begin at 3rd and Main. For the full list of closures for the Broadway Bridge races, click here:  http://bit.ly/18BzkIe
