KANSAS CITY, Mo. - If you think the fall foliage is prettier than usual this year, you're right.
One of the main reasons they look so great has been our weather. Overall nice weather since last spring kept the trees from becoming stressed. Since then, the recent warm sunny days and cool nights have helped.
"When it cools down, those sugars get trapped in the leaf and then when the pigment, the chlorophyll that makes the leaf green, all the pigments come out," Dennis Patton with the Johnson County Extension Office said.
So head on out and enjoy the fall foliage! We want to see your photos, too. Send them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or through our mobile app.
