When many of us start thinking of warmer weather, we think March. But this isn’t the case.
Metro residents prepare for another round of winter snow.
KANSAS CITY, Mo - Sporting a t-shirt and shorts, Nick Edwards from Saint Joseph stood out at the check-in line among the others in winter clothing at Kansas City International Airport Friday.
“We're very glad to get out of here for a week,” Edwards said.
Edwards and his girlfriend were headed to visit her family in a warm sunny San Antonio, Tex.
The cold temperatures have kept Julie Watson with the Shelton Travel Service on the Plaza busy.
“Mexico, the Caribbean are the most popular because they're the closest,” Watson said.
She said flights to places with warmer climates are all sold out, but some of her clients have been forced to tough it out and stay put.
“Unfortunately, that weather has also caused other havoc where they planned a trip and maybe had to cancel because the flights got canceled it works both ways,” Watson said.
