KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City residents will need to clear the sidewalks in front of their homes by Monday morning or face a ticket and fine.
The City of Kansas City, Mo., will begin enforcing its sidewalk clearing ordinance on Monday, March 4.
According to the city ordinance, snow and ice must be removed from the sidewalks "within a reasonable time after cessation of a storm."
Residents may make complaints regarding uncleared sidewalks beginning Monday by calling 311 at 816-513-1313 or online at www.kcmo.org/311.
Penalties for non-compliance will likely range, depending on severity of the offense, between $25 and $100, according to the city.
