70th Annual Golden Globes to air Sunday; Quiz your Golden Globe knowledge

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will hand out its Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

The annual event is the first award show of the season. The 70th annual Golden Globes airs on NBC Sunday at 7 p.m.

Held at the Beverly Hills Hilton since 1961, the award show features honors for both television and movies. The award show stands out for its format and venue, with honorees sitting at tables instead of the traditional auditorium seating for most award shows.

Heath Ledger and Peter Finch are the only two actors to win a Golden Globe after death.

Ledger won for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger died in January 2008, before the movie was released. Ledger was joined in the category of supporting actor by Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr., Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Ralph Fiennes. Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan accepted the award on Ledger's behalf to a standing ovation.

Peter Finch won for his role as anchorman Howard Beale in the film Network. The role earned him a posthumous Golden Globe for Best Actor in 1977.
