Video shows Wichita politician talking way out of tickets

Woman stopped numerous times for speeding

WICHITA, Kansas - Wichita's police chief is defending his officers after two videos showed a state senator being pulled over for speeding, then let go without getting a ticket.

In one of the videos Wichita Democrat Oletha Faust-Goudeau was accused of driving 18 mph over the 30 mph speed limit in a residential area. In the second video she is accused of driving 13 mph over the limit in roughly the same area.

Williams says Faust-Goudeau has been ticketed a number of times for speeding or running a stop sign. She also has been stopped three times in recent years for speeding but not ticketed.

In both videos -- posted on the Wichita Eagle's website -- she tells the officer she knows the chief and other city officials.

Williams says he wants his officers to treat all motorists the same, no matter who they are.
