Chiefs head to Joplin for tornado relief

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Kansas City Chiefs players, coaches, executives and even the cheerleaders gathered Thursday morning at Arrowhead Stadium to head to Joplin.

The team will assist in tornado relief efforts as the town continues to clean up after the May 22 twister that has killed 156 people, injured dozens more and left hundreds homeless.

The Chiefs will take part in an early-morning clean up session, followed by a tour of the damage.

Players and coaches will also be available to sign autographs, and the team will set up a Fan Zone for children.

Last month, the Chiefs held a supply drive and collected two semi trucks full of items to donate to relief efforts.
