LAWRENCE, Kan. - The 19-year-old accused of murdering her 52-year-old roommate will be transported by U.S. Marshalls from Miami to the Douglas County Jail and is expected to arrive as early as next week.
Sarah McLinn was found illegally camping in the Everglades National Park after Lawrence police put out a missing person's alert.
McLinn faces a first-degree murder charge for killing Harold Sasko with what police describe an "edged instrument."
According to Kimberly Qualls, who previously dated Sasko, the Cici's franchise owner had taken the teen in to help her save money and possibly go to college.
Glenn Sasko, Harold Sasko's brother, told 41 Action News in a phone conversation that he wasn't surprised by McLinn's arrest.
"My reaction was immediately that she was guilty," he said.
Sasko said his brother had previously told him about some of the things McLinn had talked about.
"The one that makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck is when he told me that she was either fantasizing or she was fixated on wanting to kill someone," he said,."I was like, 'Harold, that's a red flag.'"
McLinn is expected to appear before a Douglas County judge as soon as she arrives in Kansas.
